We’re wrapping up indexing and typesetting for Rick Brannan’s forthcoming volume, Lexical Commentary on the Pastoral Epistles: First Timothy. If all goes well, it should be released sometime in April, 2016.

We hesitate to use the term “Word Studies” because it has negative connotations among some, but that’s what this volume is about. Brannan examines the vocabulary of First Timothy using the New Testament, the Septuagint (LXX), the Apostolic Fathers, Josephus, Philo, Christian Apocrypha, Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, and whatever else can be consulted to illustrate how words were used and understood in contexts similar to their use in First Timothy.
