I’m doing some work with the text of Justin Martyr’s writings as found in Patrologia Graeca volume 6. Other authors are in volume six as well (Tatian, Athenagoras, Theophilus of Antioch, and Hermias). The preface by the editor is over 200 pages and focuses mainly on Justin Martyr, but also interweaves discussion of the other authors of the volume.

I used gpt-4.1-mini to translate the Latin, but I only want the bits about Justin Martyr. Turns out it isn’t a simple thing to tease apart, so I thought I’d post the 200+ page preface here, with an automated author index, in case anyone else had use of it.
